When Is Drishyam 3 Releasing?
The film in Hindi will hit the theatres on October 2, 2026. The producers of the film have revealed the name of the movie to be "Drishyam: The Conclusion" in August, revealing that this is going to be the last part of the Hindi franchise.
The date of release is also associated with the plot of previous films. 2nd October has special significance for Drishyam fans, owing to the meticulously planned alibi which forms an integral part of the plot of the original Drishyam. It is no wonder then that creators have chosen to make this date a part of their franchise and also call it "Drishyam Day".
Fans following Vijay Salgaonkar from 2015 can rest assured that the release on this day will bring closure to the long-pending tale.
Who Is in the Cast?
Once again, Ajay Devgn will be playing the role of Vijay Salgaonkar, the simple family man whose exceptional efforts to safeguard his family were at the heart of the franchise.
Returning alongside Ajay Devgn will be Tabu as Meera Deshmukh and Shriya Saran as Nandini Salgaonkar. There are also some new faces that will be seen in the film, including Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj.
Jaideep Ahlawat’s casting has got specific attention owing to rumours surrounding Akshaye Khanna, who starred in Drishyam 2. Ahlawat has made it clear that his character is not a replacement for Khanna’s character. On the contrary, he is portraying a brand new character called Rajveer Singh Tomar, who is an SP Crime Branch Officer.
A New Police Officer Changes the Game
In the trailer, it is clear that Rajveer Singh Tomar will definitely be a very tough opponent for Vijay to deal with. What separates this investigation from others is the determination of the new officer to unravel the mystery behind the story of the family.
That gives it a slightly different configuration compared to the previous ones. Rather than pursuing the same investigation, the movie seems to take another face of how things will unfold regarding the mystery of the Vijay family.
Will the Hindi and Malayalam Films Have the Same Story?
This is one of the most intriguing things about this new release. The storyline in the Hindi and Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 will be quite different from each other.
Director Abhishek Pathak has previously said that the two films will have different storylines. According to the makers, the Malayalam version takes a more emotional family-drama approach, while the Hindi version is being developed as a drama-thriller.
What this implies is that those people who have already seen the Malayalam version of Mohanlal need not necessarily hope for the Hindi movie to copy the scenes.
What Does the Trailer Reveal?
There is a lot of buzz around the trailer that was just released. Once again, Vijay is trying to save his family, but there seems to be a new investigation that is coming after him.
Jaideep Ahlawat plays Rajveer Singh Tomar, who is seen to be adopting a more aggressive attitude in terms of finding out the truth, but then again, Vijay is very intent on being one step ahead of the investigation. The reappearance of Tabu and Shriya Saran has brought back the emotional element into the series.
The makers have revealed enough to establish the central conflict but have kept several details under wraps. That is probably a good thing for a franchise built around suspense, deception, and carefully planned twists.
Why Fans Are Waiting for Drishyam 3
The Hindi Drishyam Franchise revolves around a single intriguing query: for how long can Vijay Salgaonkar manage to keep running away from the truth?
The first two movies turned this question into a great crime drama in which Vijay always uses his intellect and knowledge about police operations to save his family from danger. In the third movie, this story is going to reach its conclusion.
Since Ajay Devgn has reprised his role, he is coming back in the leading role; Abhishek Pathak is taking the director’s seat once again, along with a new rival in the film, and it will be exciting to see what transpires next.
