Veteran actor Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 on October 8, 2026, after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. According to hospital sources, he was found unconscious at his home and was taken to a hospital, where doctors tried to revive him for around 45 minutes. His death was confirmed at 5:20 AM. 

The news came as a shock to the Hindi and Marathi film industries. Patekar was known for his distinctive acting style and powerful performances across several decades. His son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the death and said that he was travelling to Goa, with a detailed statement expected from the family.

What Happened to Nana Patekar in Goa?

From the information provided by Manipal Hospital, Nana Patekar was found in an unconscious state at his residence in Goa early on Thursday morning. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment thereafter.

Doctors attempted to revive him through continuous CPR for approximately 45 minutes, but he could not be revived. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Department of Oncology at Manipal Hospital, confirmed the medical details to news agency ANI. 

The hospital also verified that an MLC had been recorded, and a post-mortem will be done. This implies that there were still some things surrounding the death that were under the medical and legal process at the time of the initial reports.


Last Public Appearance of Nana Patekar

As per a Moneycontrol report, the visit of Nana Patekar to Goa occurred on the occasion of an event dated October 4th. This was just four days before the date of death of Nana Patekar. The visit was to the function at the Samraat Club International.

The video surfaced after news of his death. In the video, Patekar was seen dressed in his iconic white kurta-pyjama while addressing the event. Patekar’s presence at a public event just days before his death has come to the knowledge of people, since it was one of his last public appearances.
